A 6-month-old baby boy was tossed from a second-story balcony by his disturbed mother. Police said the mother threw her baby over the balcony of the family’s Brooklyn apartment on Thursday morning.
Later on Thursday, investigators were questioning his parents over the disturbing incident before 5 a.m. at 1870 51st Street in Mapleton, the NYPD said. The baby was critically injured in the fall.
Authorities said the woman’s husband was asleep when his wife woke him and said she had dropped their child from the balcony.
The infant was brought to Maimonides Medical Center in critical but stable condition.
Reportedly the baby suffered arm, body, leg, and hand injuries. Police said it is still unclear whether the drop was done on purpose.
By Thursday evening, no word on any arrests was given.
