USHER and H.E.R. Release “Risk It All”

Warner Bros. Pictures, WaterTower Music and gamma. announce today’s arrival of USHER & H.E.R.’s Risk It All. The song heralds from THE COLOR PURPLE (MUSIC FROM AND INSPIRED BY), the soundtrack album for the newly reimagined motion picture release The Color Purple.

A star-studded musical journey, THE COLOR PURPLE (MUSIC FROM AND INSPIRED BY) features beloved songs from director Blitz Bazawule’s bold new film, in addition to original material inspired by the rich tapestry of the film’s narratives. 

Risk It All is a captivating track produced and written by H.E.R. and renowned songwriter Jimmy Napes. H.E.R.’s signature, compelling lyricism and impassioned production are put on display through velvety, soaring vocals that tug at the heartstrings. The song brings together these two award-winning superstars for a special collaboration that encapsulates the raw emotion and enduring strength of the film’s narratives: risk, love and liberation. USHER’s signature smooth tones blend seamlessly with H.E.R.’s soulful depth, creating a hymn of resilience and courage. Risk It All is the follow-up to the soundtrack’s first single, Alicia Keys’ stunning Lifeline.

Beginning today at 11:00 am ET/8:00 am PT, the video will premiere on MTV airing every music hour on MTVU, MTV Live & MTV Biggest Pop. Concurrently, the video premieres on BET and YouTube/Vevo. Risk It All was directed by the award-winning master Dave Myers, who has helmed feature films as well as been a frequent collaborator with Ariana Grande, Missy Elliott and Jennifer Lopez, among others. 

Risk It All will also be included on USHER’s new album COMING HOME, pre-save here, out February 9th via mega/gamma.  

USHER & H.E.R. are joined on the soundtrack by an incomparable array of music luminaries, including Alicia Keys, Megan Thee Stallion, Jennifer Hudson, Mary J. Blige, Fantasia, Missy Elliott, Halle Bailey, Keyshia Cole, Coco Jones, Taraji P. Henson, Timbaland, Jorja Smith, The-Dream, Celeste, Mary Mary, Darkchild, October London and more. The Color Purple (Music From And Inspired By) is the biggest R&B soundtrack in decades, boasting 17 songs from the film, 16 newly penned songs and four remixes.

The score for the film, composed by Kris Bowers, is out now.
