The Steve Harvey Morning Show discussed R Kelly’s child pornography trial. Prosecutors said the singer secretly recorded sexual acts. On Friday, the jury in R Kelly’s trial watched graphic videos that prosecutors say show the singer sexually assaulting his Goddaughter when she was as young as 14, said Shirley Strawberry.

The videos are key evidence in the prosecution’s case against R Kelly, who is accused of producing child pornography and rigging his 2008 child pornography trial in Cook County. The now 37-year-old niece of R&B singer Sparkle took the stand as Jane Doe.

She told the jury that she and R Kelly began having sex when she was 14. She also confessed that she had had sex hundreds of times before the age of 18. She was not the only young girl in R Kelly’s bedroom. He’s secretly recorded other sex acts. The smoke detectors on his ceiling were hidden cameras, said Strawberry. R Kelly failed to have the smoke detectors removed before selling his home, and the next owner made the creepy discovery.

Before the trial, Jane doe and her family denied allegations of abuse by R Kelly. She lied to the grand jury before the Cook County trial, where R Kelly was acquitted, explained Strawberry. When asked why she continued the relationship or friendship with R Kelly into adulthood, she said she no longer wanted to carry his lies.

R Kelly is on trial for 13 indictments, including child pornography and obstruction of justice, said Strawberry. The trial is expected to last four weeks.

Sparkle said some of the woman’s testimony was not true, said Steve Harvey. He wanted to know which part was the truth and which was not. Harvey said what R Kelly did to the young minor was not okay. And there is video footage of the indecent acts. The morning show DJ said there are more cases down the road for R Kelly.

Harvey said it is a shame what happened to R Kelly because he had “moments” of being a “cool guy.”
