Collaboration marks significant milestone for the Finnish music industry
Sony Music Publishing (�SMP�) today announced it has acquired a�significant stake�in the Finnish company�Elements Music, as well as the company�s�music publishing catalog of approximately 10,000 works. Additionally, the parties have established a long-term creative partnership which will see Element�s roster receiving enhanced local support through SMP Scandinavia and gaining access to the company�s global network and resources, strengthening the position of Finnish music internationally.
Elements Music Owners Tommi Tuomainen and Eero Tolppanen said, �We are proud and excited about this collaboration, which is a significant milestone for the entire Finnish music industry. Founded in 2005, Elements Music is Finland�s leading independent music publisher and one of the most respected copyright companies in Northern Europe. The company represents many of Finland�s most successful songwriters such as Axel Ehnstrom, Johannes Brotherus (KUUMAA), OLGA, Jonas Olsson, Timo Kiiskinen, Kyosti Salokorpi, Samuli Sirvio, and BESS. In addition, the company�s publishing catalog includes the works of several Finnish music legends such as Eppu Normaali, Y�, and Popeda. The Elements team will continue business operations as usual, but now with the broader support of SMP.
