The NAMM Show, the largest annual trade event for music industry professionals, marks its 125th anniversary this week in Anaheim. Running from June 20-24 at the Anaheim Convention Center, the event brings together creators, manufacturers, and distributors of musical instruments and technology.
Since its inception in 1902, which drew a handful of piano dealers to Baltimore, NAMM has grown into a global organization with over 15,400 member companies, including renowned brands like Fender and Yamaha. This year’s show features more than 1,650 exhibitors and over 3,500 brands, alongside numerous educational workshops and performances from 175 bands.
Influencers have become a significant part of the event, offering insights to millions of consumers outside of NAMM’s traditional membership. NAMM President and CEO John T. Mlynczak emphasizes the importance of personal connections within the industry, stating that the event serves as a vital networking opportunity.
The show will also host various awards ceremonies, including the Bass Magazine Awards and the TEC Awards, honoring notable musicians and industry veterans. Despite challenges like increased tariffs, the music industry showed resilience, with modest growth reported in recent years.
As the event unfolds, it aims to focus on the future of the music products industry, reinforcing its commitment to innovation and collaboration.
