Roslyn Pineda Named President of Sony Music Publishing Asia

Sony Music Publishing (SMP) has appointed Roslyn Pineda as the new President of SMP Asia, effective immediately. Pineda succeeds Carol Ng, who has served as President of SMP Asia for many years and will retire at the end of March.

Ng’s leadership helped expand SMP’s footprint in the region, including the launch of offices in Jakarta, Bangkok, and the upcoming Manila office.

Pineda, who will be based in Hong Kong, brings extensive experience to her new role. Having spent over two decades with Sony Music, she most recently served as General Manager for the Philippines and Vice President of Artist Relations & Business Development in Asia.

In her new role, Pineda will oversee creative and business operations across Asia, focusing on strengthening relationships with clients and industry partners while enhancing global support for SMP’s songwriters in the region.

She will report directly to Guy Henderson, President, International at Sony Music Publishing.

Pineda’s career in the music industry includes working with high-profile artists like John Mayer, Leehom Wang, Jessi, and One Direction.

She played a crucial role in the reopening of Sony Music’s Philippines office in 2018, and the subsequent signing of popular artists such as Ben&Ben, SB19, and IV OF SPADES.

In 2024, Pineda led the acquisition of the ABS-CBN music catalog, and in 2025, she was named Billboard Philippines’ Music Industry Executive of the Year.

Reflecting on her appointment, Pineda said, “I am thrilled to take on this leadership role at Sony Music Publishing Asia during such an exciting time for our industry and our region.

I look forward to working closely with Guy Henderson and Jon Platt to empower our songwriters and foster creativity and innovation across Asia.”

Ng, who joined Sony Music Publishing in 1998, expressed gratitude for her years of leadership and the accomplishments achieved during her tenure.

She expanded the business into new territories, solidifying SMP’s position as the leading publisher across Asia. Ng will now focus on spending more time with her family and pursuing personal plans in the U.K.
