Music Industry Drama Songs for Selina

The music-themed drama Songs For Selina is scheduled to premiere in Philippine cinemas on March 18. The film offers a compelling exploration of ambition and the challenges faced within the music industry.

Starring Mica Javier and Rachel Coates, the narrative centers on Selina and Maya, two musical soulmates whose aspirations begin to unravel amid the industry’s competitive landscape. The film presents a transition from harmony to conflict, ultimately highlighting the struggles for survival in a demanding environment.

Previously acquired by Amazon Prime US and Tubi for its North American release, Songs For Selina now returns to its roots, aiming to resonate with Filipino audiences through its unflinching portrayal of the industry. The film is produced by Homeworkz Entertainment and distributed in the Philippines by Black Cap Pictures, showcasing a commitment to authentic storytelling.

Executive producer Jay R, who is also a co-writer and producer of the film’s original soundtrack, emphasizes the personal nature of the project. The music is designed to complement the narrative, with each song crafted to enhance the emotional depth and storytelling of the film. The cast includes notable talents such as Rachel Alejandro, Audie Gemora, Nicole Laurel, Leanne Mamonong, Gian Magdangal, and Jay R himself, further enriching the film’s appeal.
