Sirius xm Radio will commemorate the life and career of legendary singer Teddy Pendergrass, who died on January 13, with a special hour-long tribute scheduled to air on Soul Town, Sirius channel 53 and xm channel 60.
The Teddy Pendergrass tribute will feature an archival interview with Pendergrass, recorded in 2007, during which he discussed his charitable organization which deals with victims of spinal cord injury and his personal story about the song “Gift of Life.”
Additionally, Soul Town will play music by the iconic soul singer throughout the special, including his recordings with Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes: “If You Don’t Know Me By Now,” “Bad Luck,” “Wake Up Everybody;” as well as music from his solo career: “Close The Door,” “Only You,” “I Don’t Love You Anymore,” and “Turn Off The Lights.
The Teddy Pendergrass tribute will begin to air on Friday, January 15 at 9:00 am ET. The special will be rebroadcast on Friday, January 15 at 7:00 pm ET and Saturday, January 16 at 11:00 am ET.
