Singer/songwriter/producer Eric Benét has been nominated for two Grammy Awards today including Best https://radiofacts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/12/Eric-Benet.jpgR&B Album for his smash CD “Love & Life.  The second nomination for the talented heart-throb is for Best Male R&B Vocal Performance, paying homage to his single “You’re The Only One,” which spent four weeks on the charts at No. 1.  Fresh off of a national tour that has sold out venues in several markets, Benét is scheduled to serenade his fans and a national audience on “The Ellen DeGeneres” show on December 16 .

Benét’s “Love & Life” CD is the product of a return to his musical roots in his hometown of Milwaukee where he teamed up with previous creative partner Demonte Posey and writer/producer George Nash, Jr. to create an R&B masterpiece tinged with gospel and jazz influences.  The songs were inspired by Benét’s passion for R&B music from the 70’s and influences such as Stevie Wonder and Blue Magic.

Eric Benét first turned heads with his debut album “True To Myself” (l996). His platinum-certified “A Day In The Life” (l999) earned Benét his first Grammy nomination for his acclaimed duet “Spend My Life With You” with R&B siren, Tamia.  In 2005, his next album “Hurricane” brought Eric into the studio with multi-Grammy winning producer David Foster.  In September 2008, Essence magazine said, “His melodic opus, Love & Life , is a throwback to decades of rhythm and blues from the 70’s to the present day.”
