Second Estate Records, a new label founded by A&R veteran and entrepreneur Mel Carter, today named Katie Kay its General Manager and Adise Bellille its President. Together, Kay and Bellille will shepherd upcoming releases from buzzing Philadelphia phenomenon 2Rare and many more acts in partnership with Warner Records via Second Estate’srecently minted worldwide joint venture.

Welcoming these executives to the team, Carter said, “Katie and Adise are both talented music executives who understand how to move an artist in an ever-changing landscape. With their knowledge and expertise, I’m confident we can take Second Estate to the next level. This is a huge win for our label and the roster we are developing.”

Steve Carless, President of A&R, Warner Records, commented, “Katie’s experience has given her a unique perspective on artist marketing and development, while Adisehas a strong foundation in live music and entertainment. They are both incredible additions to Mel Carter’s creative executive team. We look forward to what the Second Estate roster will accomplish in 2023 and beyond.”

Echoing this sentiment, Kay stated, “I’m thrilled to join Mel Carter and Second Estate at this pivotal moment and excited about all of the new talent we’re bringing to the mainstream, including 2Rare. 2Rare’s talent is undeniable, and his vision, presence, and drive are all equally inspiring.”

Rapper 2Rare is one of the leading purveyors of Philly club music. His influence has been infectious since his arrival with “Q-Pid,” his debut smash single in collaboration with Lil Durk. 2Rare’s standout verse on NLE Choppa’s “Do It Again” garnered him his first entry on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart. 2Rare continues to grow and master new sounds on his way to superstardom.

Katie Kay previously served as Vice President of Marketing at Cinematic Music Group, strategizing multiplatinum releases by the likes of Flipp Dinero, Big Yavo, Cam’ron, and more. Working in artist management, she previously facilitated projects for everyone from Wale to YFN Lucci. In 2022, HitsDailyDouble named her among its “Noisemakers, and she appeared on the publication’s2023 Women’s History Month cover.

Adise Bellille remains a renowned entertainment and hospitality entrepreneur.
