The growing digital realm continues to make strides with continued growth with eyes on vet music industry execs who are making the switch to head some of the biggest online music portals. Just announced, industry vet Lyor Cohen has been hired as the Head of Global Music for Google’s video service. Cohen previously announced 300 Entertainment as the founder, home to rap superstar Fetty Wap, a couple of years ago and he will now exit that post but remain the company’s biggest stockholder for his new position as the first Global Head of Music at YouTube. Cohen, a former Def Jam head, joins other music execs who have headed to the digital realm such as Troy Carter who recently joined Spotify and Jimmy Iovine who joined Apple.
