IHEARTMEDIA CHICAGO ANNOUNCES SISTA STRUT BREAST CANCER WALK

iHeartMedia Chicago’s 107.5 WGCI, Chicago’s No. 1 Radio Station for Hip-Hop & R&B, V103, Today’s R&B and Throwbacks Radio Station, and Inspiration 1390, Music Of Power & Praise Radio Station, 103.5 KISS FM, Chicago’s #1 Hit Music Station, 93.9 LITE FM, Chicago’s Relaxing Favorites and Rock 95 FIVE, Chicago’s Rock Station, announced that its fourth annual Sista Strut, a 3K breast cancer charity walk will go virtual this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Sista Strut, presented by Illinois Lottery and Xfinity, will benefit the Chicago Chapter of the Sisters Network Inc., the nation’s largest Black breast cancer survivorship organization.

“2020 has brought many unforeseen challenges to our community, one being the ability to get together,” said Derrick Brown, Vice President of Programming for iHeartMedia Chicago. “Breast cancer remains a significant threat to Black women in our community, and it is our responsibility to continue raising the much-needed funds to educate and inform our listeners about this devastating disease.”

“I am so glad our stations can contribute to such a worthy cause,” said Matt Scarano, President of iHeartMedia Chicago. “It is a pleasure to raise money for the Chicago Chapter of the Sisters Network, Inc. and support the incredible mission to educate our community and fight towards a cure for breast cancer.”

Sista Strut will kick off Saturday, October 10 at 10a.m. on all iHeartMedia Chicago’s stations’ social platforms. Throughout October, listeners will be encouraged to “strut” on their own time, using a route of their choice and donate to the Chicago Chapter of the Sisters Network, Inc.
