Composer Anirudh Ravichander has launched a new audio label, Albuquerque Records, named after his recording studio inspired by the television series Breaking Bad. This initiative aims to create a platform for both original soundtracks and independent music, enhancing the regional pop music landscape.
The label will focus on releasing music from Anirudh’s film projects while also promoting independent artists. This strategy seeks to connect mainstream film compositions with the independent music scene, providing a space for a variety of musical expressions and styles.
At the helm of Albuquerque Records is B Kaushik, who brings over 15 years of experience in the music industry, including a notable tenure as Head of non-film music (POP) at Sony Music India – South. The collaboration between Anirudh and Kaushik is based on a longstanding professional relationship that dates back to their earlier work together.
Albuquerque Records is set to release original soundtracks for several upcoming films, including high-profile projects featuring prominent actors such as Rajinikanth, Shah Rukh Khan, and Vijay. This venture marks a significant step in Anirudh’s career, aiming to build a robust catalog that champions new talent and contributes to the evolution of regional pop culture.
