The Brooklyn-based American Authors, who are currently on tour in Australia, will perform for the industry-packed audience. Earlier this year, the band appeared on the highly rated “Ellen Degeneres Show,” “Conan,” “Live with Kelly & Michael” and VH-1 named them one of its “You Oughta Know” artists. The single “Best Day of My Life” from their recent debut album, Oh, What A Life (Island Records) hit #1 on Billboard’s Heatseeker chart, hit #1 on Hot AC Radio, is currently in the top ten on Top 40 radio (#7), and has been featured in advertisements for Toyota and Lowe’s as well as in trailers for big budget movies Delivery Man and Secret Life of Walter Mitty. The band will be joining OneRepublic and The Script in amphitheaters this summer and is scheduled to perform at Firefly Festival, Suburbia Fest and Big Guava Music Festival.

Rico Love, who has won SESAC’s biggest honor of “Songwriter of the Year” three years in a row, will make his Pop Awards performance premiere at this year’s gala. Known for writing songs and producing some of the biggest names in the music industry such as Usher, Beyonce, Kelly Rowland, Dr. Dre and Diddy – Love will perform “They Don’t Know” from his debut EP, Discrete Luxury. The EP was originally released digitally and it is now available on CD exclusively at Best Buy.

As previously announced, Richard Gottehrer, co-founder and chief creative officer of The Orchard and an iconic songwriter (“My Boyfriend’s Back”, and “I want Candy”) will be honored with the special sesac “Visionary Award” in recognition of his tireless dedication to songwriters and immeasurable contributions to the music world.

Other special awards will be presented including Songwriter of the Year, Song of the Year and Publisher of the Year.

The invitation-only, red carpet gala is one of the most popular music gatherings in the industry and takes place at the stately New York Public Library. Each year, the star studded evening features special performances from some of entertainment’s top hit-makers with attendees including some of the biggest names in music. Last year, Rico Love won the Songwriter of The Year and Song of the Year awards and Mumford & Sons’ Ben Lovett, Michelle Williams and Swizz Beatz were among the elite talent in attendance.
