Butch Hartfield Exits Epic

Industry vet Butch Hartfield has exited his position as SW Regional Promotios for Epic Records. No further details are available at this time.

Butch Hartfield’s career in the music industry spans several key positions over more than three decades, beginning with his role as Southwest Regional Manager at Priority Records from January 1993 to December 1994, where he promoted artists including Ice Cube. He continued in this capacity at Perspective Records from January 1995 to December 1996, focusing on artists like Mint Condition.

From January 1997 to December 1998, Hartfield worked as the National Director of Field Promotions at Arista Records, where he was responsible for increasing radio airplay for artists such as TLC. He then served as Vice President of Urban Music Promotion at Dreamworks Records from January 1999 to January 2001, overseeing promotions for various artists and soundtracks.

Returning to Arista Records in January 2001, Hartfield resumed his role as National Director of Field Promotions, aiding in the brand and market development of artists like Santana and Ur. He held a similar position at Island Def Jam Records from January 2002 to February 2011, leading promotional efforts for Rihanna and Ne-Yo among others.

Since January 2011, Hartfield has served as Senior National Director of Promotion and the SW Regional at Epic
