Industry Vet Senator Bennie Turner Dies

Bennie Turner (b. August 21, 1948 d. November 27, 2012) was a Democratic member of the Mississippi State Senate, representing the 16th Senatorial District.

Turner joined the Mississippi State Senate in 1994. He has served in that position since, representing the 16th district. Turner worked an an Attorney and Broadcaster.

Turner earned his AS from Mary Holmes College. He went on to receive his BA from Mississippi State University. He then earned his JD from the University of Mississippi School of Law.

A FaceBook page has been created stating: A way to honor the memory and preserve the legacy of a man that loved so many, gave so much and left so soon. This is a page to remember him, share stories and connect with others that were fortunate to be touched by his life. Love, laugh and heal.

Cumulus PD Jerold Jackson states: In November 1991, I met a man that own a radio company in Mississippi. He gave me my first managers job in radio and believed in me. I would not be who I am today if he did not believe in me.

A few hours ago he was called home. Rest in peace Senator Bennie L. Turner.
