13 People were shot in Chicago last night on the city’s south side and fortunately no one was killed. My question is where is the national coverage? Where is the outrage in the community? Where is the press conference from the White House? Well, it just happened so maybe those things will occur.
This is nothing new to Chicago because the city has officially become the murder capital of the United States. As far as the official incident is concerned, two gunmen opened fire on a group gathered at a basketball court in the Back of the Yards neighborhood.
The shooting occurred at 10:15 pm as is believed to be gang-related. When the smoke and chaos cleared, Julian Harris, 22, said his 3-year-old nephew, Deonta “Tay-man” Howard, was shot in the face. Deonta was taken in critical condition to Mount Sinai Hospital, according to Fire Media Affairs.
My next question is, why is a 3 year old out at 10:15pm hanging out with adults? The act is still senseless and no one deserves to get shot regardless of where or when they choose to hang out.

â—† A 31-year-old man was shot in the buttocks, in stable condition at Northwestern.
â—† A 28-year-old man was shot in the wrist, leg and hip, in unknown condition at Mt. Sinai.
â—† A 41-year-old man was shot in the buttocks, in serious condition at Stroger.
â—† A 26-year-old man was shot in the leg, in serious condition at Mt. Sinai.
â—† A 25-year-old man was shot in the abdomen, in serious condition at Mt. Sinai.
â—† A 37-year-old man was shot in the thigh, in good condition at Stroger.
â—† A 21-year-old man was shot in the leg, in good condition at Northwestern.
â—† A 23-year-old man was shot in the thigh in stable condition at Little Company of Mary.
â—† A 33-year-old woman was shot in the back/shoulder, in stable condition at Northwestern.
