SOULY HAD Explores Toxic Relationships in New Single DRUGS

Today, singer-songwriter and rising music sensation Souly Had releases his new single “DRUGS”, the first track to be unveiled from Souly’s forthcoming EP D.R.U.G.S. due this summer via 4th & Broadway/Island Records. Souly – Drugs

Coming off the release of his 2019 breakthrough EP B.L.I.S.S. (Because Love Is So Special) with hit tracks “Crush” which have racked up over 100 millions streams across all platforms, “DRUGS” explores the ebbs and flows that come with a toxic relationship and wanting someone who is not good for you. Written by Souly himself, the mid-tempo track is produced by Hennedub who is best known for his work with Jessie Reyez and 6LACK.

“This single compares a relationship to addictive substances.

The first verse explores each persons’ faults and dives deep into a specific situation pushing further into the most negative aspects of the relationship. The second verse is the flip side by going back in time to the honeymoon phase and the beginning of this addictive relationship, foreshadowing the worst to come,” said Souly. Raised in upstate New York, Souly vividly recalls being in the car with his mom listening to artists like Justin Timberlake and Sublime, which he attributes to the beginning of his subconscious inclination to singing.

By the age of 15, he began making beats on his iPhone and selling $5 mixtapes and like many others, Souly put his musical talent on display by covering songs of other artists he admired,
