Rapper Coolio Found Dead at 59

Rapper Coolio was found dead on a friend’s bathroom floor today from what appears to have been a heart attack. The rapper, whose real name was Artis Leon Ivey Jr., had been visiting a friend when he went to the bathroom and didn’t come out.

The friend knocked on the door repeatedly and finally went in and found Coolio lying unresponsive on the floor. When paramedics arrived, they announced him dead on the scene.

Coolio shot to stardom in the mid-90s with a bevy of hits, including “Gangsta’s Paradise,” 1,2,3,4 (Sumpin’ New),” “It’s All the Way Live (Now), and “Fantastic Voyage.”

Coolio married industry vet and radio DJ Josepha Salinas from 1996 to 2000. He was the father of six children.
