CBS This Morning, the network’s new two-hour morning program hosted by Charlie Rose, Gayle King and Erica Hill, will feature an energizing and sophisticated new iconic sound courtesy of music for media and sonic branding company Man Made Music. The show is set to premiere on CBS Monday, January 9th from 7 AM to 9 AM Eastern.
The music and sounds created by Man Made Music will reflect the style, tone and content of the new morning program, extending CBS News’ commitment to original reporting and journalistic integrity. The Man Made Music team created 300 pieces of music for the program, ranging from a new iconic program theme, a series of special segment themes and more. Man Made Music will also help with general music strategy for the program.
“When CBS asked us to consider what the ‘sound’ would be for this project and we were then told of the vision and the talent involved, I knew this program was going to break ground in network news. Our goal was to create something wholly original to capture its integrity and honesty. CBS This Morning will offer morning viewers a more thoughtful, substantive and insightful source of news and information delivered by a team of experienced journalists.
The new morning program will broadcast live from the legendary CBS Broadcast Center in New York City which has served as the headquarters for CBS News broadcasts for nearly half a century.
Man Made Music works across multiple platforms from television to cable set top box applications to iPhone apps and beyond. They are dedicated to harnessing the emotional power of sound and music to tell great stories. Clients include everyone from ABC, NBC, CBS, HBO, ESPN, FX, History Channel, AETN, Discovery Channel and major brands such as AT&T, Virgin Mobile, Land Rover and Lipton Brisk and more.
