Legacy Recordings, the catalog division of Sony Music Entertainment, proudly announces the expanded digital release of Never Too Much: Greatest Hits by Luther Vandross. This updated album features a newly uncovered version of Vandross’s soulful rendition of The Beatles’ classic “Michelle,” now available on all streaming platforms. Additionally, the album includes the track “If This World Were Mine” by Cheryl Lynn, featuring Luther Vandross.

The original release of Never Too Much: Greatest Hits in December 2024 showcased the only known version of Vandross’ interpretation of “Michelle,” discovered on a cassette in his archives. Initially, little was known about this recording, but it was revealed that Vandross’s version was produced by the legendary Richard Perry, as confirmed by Perry’s associate producer, Steve Lindsey. The final version, never before released, is now included in this expanded album.

Lindsey remarked, “Working with Luther was an honor of a lifetime. Richard Perry and I believed this was our best collaboration. Having ‘Michelle’ finally released is a dream come true and reaffirms that Luther Vandross is one of the greatest vocalists of all time.”

The updated digital album also features “If This World Were Mine,” which has recently been sampled, including Luther’s vocals, in Kendrick Lamar’s hit song “luther.”

Anticipation for Luther Vandross continues with the global release of Dawn Porter’s acclaimed documentary Luther: Never Too Much. The film returns to AMC Theaters in the U.S. from January 31 to February 9. It will also premiere on the OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network on Friday, February 7, at 9 PM ET, and will be available on MAX starting February 8, as well as on Sky Arts in the UK on February 14.
