BMI’s Richard Conlon on Digital Licensing at MIDEM 2014

Senior Vice President, Corporate Strategy, Communications and New Media, will be speaking on a panel entitled “The Next Big Thing in Licensing” at the 2014 MIDEM Conference in Cannes, France. The panel, to be held Monday, February 3, 2014, will focus on licensing in the digital age, how it impacts the music industry and how we can better streamline the clearance of rights globally in a new era of musical growth. Additional panelists include Charles Caldas, CEO, Merlin (Netherlands); Florian Dr�cke, Managing Director, BVMI/IFPI (Germany); Melinda Lee, GM, Getty Images Music (USA); Mary Megan Peer, President, Asia Pacific & Strategic Markets, peermusic (USA); and Bill Wilson, VP, Digital Strategy & Business Development, Music Business Association (USA), who will be moderating the discussion.

The MIDEM conference is an annual event that this year will concentrate on the ongoing innovation, relationships and growth within the music industry. The conference aims to provide a complete toolkit for success, ranging from streaming and new monetization models to tech and brand partnerships, music investments and emerging trends in licensing.
