BMI presented “The New Mexican Revolution” panel during�Billboard Latin Music Week�on Tuesday, October 3, at the Faena Forum in Miami. The panel featured a group of today’s most prominent artists who are revolutionizing Mexican music including�Grupo Frontera’s Adelaido “Payo” Solis�and�Juan Javier Cantu,�Peso Pluma,�and�Yng Lucas. BMI’s VP of Creative, Latin, Jesus Gonzalez�moderated the conversation.

Throughout the panel, the talented ensemble shared stories behind their most successful collaborations, their early begnnings in the industry, and reflected on the evolution of Mexican music and its recent mainstream success.

On collaborating, Grupo Frontera members talked about connecting with Edgar Barrera and MAG on the hit single “un x100to” and revealed that they had no idea Bad Bunny would be a part of the song until he appeared on the set to record the music video. Yng Lucas also touched on the importance of collaborating with other emerging artists and helping one another elevate in the industry. Moreover, the group reflected on the evolution and groundbreaking success of Mexican music, with Peso Pluma sharing that it’s because of unity that the genre has received mainstream notoriety, stating “we’re now taking this music global.” �Billboard Latin Music Week concludes this Friday, October 6.
