Never Seen Before Artworks Coming LA Museum

Art Sims Mayme3 (1)Renown Artist/Graphic Designer Art Sims has created a museum exhibition on Never Seen Before artwork from his early years, couple with his incredible work of his most famous movie posters design for spike lee titled “Movies And Messages: The Movie Posters & Early Works of Art Sims”. The Premier Exhibit Opening & Private Reception will be held on Thursday, February 25 @ 7 PM at the Mayme A. Clayton Museum, 4130 Overland Ave, Culver City, CA 90230. Proceeds to benefit the Mayme A. Clayton Museum.

For the first time, Sims’ original early art works will be sold, along with signed movie posters. This event is also the first time Art Sims has displayed his artwork in Los Angeles.

The exhibit includes some of the famous posters Sims designed, including: Do The Right Thing, Jungle Fever, Malcolm X, Mo Better Blues, Bamboozled, Red Tails as well as the comprehensive layouts, photography and notes, logotype ideas that made these the most famous film posters in the world. Most importantly, Sims is debuting pieces from his early years as a fine artist when he was in his college years at Michigan State University.

Sims explains, “I think it’s time for me to start displaying my body of works to the world. Most people has seen my creations done for spike lee iconic films, however my humble beginnings as a child to college works will unveil my journey to now. Sims continues, excited to witness everybody’s reaction to my growing years.”
