HOT 97, Kiss FM & RXP Launch iPhone App

Emmis Communications New York radio stations HOT 97, 98.7 Kiss FM and 101.9 RXP today announced the launch of new iPhone Apps featuring a visual interface with station music, artists and events.   The tool launches via partnership with technology developer RadioVoodoo and features instant Å”now playing elements that allow users to find out about the music being heard and instantly download it from apple iTunes.  Ã‚   The app also features event information, polls and commenting which gives listeners a direct access point to participate and communicate with on-air personalities.

Å”The HOT97, KissFM and RXP apps each turn an iphone into a remote control for your radio said Emmis New York Director of Marketing and Digital Brian Dâ„¢Aurelio.  Ã‚   Å”They provide our listeners with a hand held interface into music, events, poll questions and information happening at each station and allow fans to participate by voting, making requests and interacting with our playlists.   It is another distribution platform to provide music fans worldwide with access to the exclusive content found on HOT 97, 98.7 Kiss FM and 101.9 RXP.

Å”HOT97, Å”KissFM and Å”RXP apps are available now for iPhone owners within the apps store by searching by name or for the station logos.   The RadioVoodoo applications currently support music streaming and each Emmis New York will be streaming as it becomes available in the future. “We’ve built the HOT 97, Kiss FM and 101.9 RXP iPhone Apps for these stations and their huge fan bases,” said Chris Johnson, GM of RadioVoodoo. “We couldn’t be more excited to provide the Apps for these stations who were our earliest customers and who we’ve watched curate radio in New York and innovate the listener experience for years.”
