As some students were finishing Fall semester final examinations, and others were packing to go home for the Christmas break, the Oakwood campus was treated to brief snowfall on Tuesday, December 10, 2019.
Some weather-watchers were expecting it, others were taken by complete surprise to see the fast-falling flakes that briefly transformed the campus.
The Public Safety Department issued an announcement Tuesday night, indicating that “d ue to the strong possibility of hazardous road conditions, on Wednesday, December 11, 2019, Oakwood University’s office hours and classes will begin at 10:00 a.m. ”
The emergency notification system is part of OUPD’s registration with the National Weather Service, that certifies Oakwood University as being StormReady®.
