Kapo achieves Pop/Latin Rhythm Songwriter of the Year; Edén Muñoz earns Regional Mexican Songwriter & Song of the Year; Manuel Turizo and Kemzo win Pop/Latin Rhythm Song of the Year
Sony Music Publishing Latin was named Pop/Latin Rhythm Publisher of the Year and Regional Mexican Publisher of the Year at the 2026 SESAC Latina Music Awards, held on May 27 in Los Angeles. The honors mark SMP Latin’s eleventh consecutive Publisher of the Year win and its second consecutive year sweeping both publisher categories, marking a record-breaking achievement for the company.

Additionally, SMP Latin songwriters swept many of the night’s top honors, with Kapo receiving the Pop/Latin Rhythm Songwriter of the Year award for his work on hit songs including “Imagínate,” “LUNA,” and “X Ti’; Edén Muñoz winning Regional Mexican Songwriter of the Year and Regional Mexican Song of the Year with “Lejos Estamos Mejor”; and Manuel Turizo and Kemzo taking home Pop/Latin Rhythm Song of the Year for “En Privado.”
Throughout the evening, Sony Music Publishing songwriters were represented across thirteen award-winning songs including “Bésame” (Kemzo); “Hiekka” (Nicky Jam); “Romeo” (Lenny Tavárez); “Más Que Tu” and “Passoa” (Kapo, Juan Diego Medina); “Que Chulada” (Alex Hernandez); “Que Haces” (Manuel Turizo, Juan Diego Medina) and more.
