Audacy has appointed Andre Yancey Brand Manager of 102 JAMS, KRBQ-FM, in San Francisco. The appointment puts Yancey in charge of the station’s day-to-day direction as it moves into its next chapter under new leadership. The San Francisco outlet is part of Audacy’s broader portfolio of stations in the Bay Area market.
In the role, Yancey will oversee content strategy, on-air talent, station operations and branding for 102 JAMS. Those duties place him at the center of decisions about the station’s programming direction and its presence in the local market. Yancey will continue to serve as Assistant Brand Manager of 94.7 The Block, WXBK-FM, in New York, holding responsibilities at both Audacy stations rather than stepping away from his existing role.
Yancey Returns to Bay Area Radio Leadership
Yancey is a Bay Area native, and the appointment brings him back to a leadership role in the market where his radio career began. His path into the industry started locally, with early experience that predates his years working in New York radio.
He got his start with KMEL’s street team, an entry point that put him in direct contact with the station’s audience before he moved into programming-adjacent work. He later worked with KMEL’s Morning Zoo, gaining additional experience with the format and the market that 102 JAMS now serves.
That background gives the appointment added significance locally. Rather than arriving as an outside hire, Yancey steps into the position with personal ties to the Bay Area and firsthand knowledge of the radio scene he once worked in early in his career.
Experience at WCBS-FM and 94.7 The Block
Yancey joined Audacy in 2021, moving into a role as Director of Morning Content Operations for WCBS-FM in New York. That position placed him at the center of the station’s morning programming during a period of transition for the format.
Part of that work included helping relaunch WCBS-FM’s morning program after it went dark during the pandemic, a task that involved rebuilding programming and operations for the daypart.
Yancey later helped launch 94.7 The Block and contributed to the station’s audience growth and digital strategy, work that carried into his current title as Assistant Brand Manager there. Audacy has described 94.7 The Block as its most-used urban streaming brand, a characterization the company has applied to the platform rather than a figure that has been independently verified.
Yancey’s move to 102 JAMS also reflects Audacy’s broader emphasis on pairing programming leadership with digital growth across its stations. He also credited his predecessor, known professionally as Complex, for the work already completed at the station.
102 JAMS broadcasts across the San Francisco Bay Area on KRBQ-FM and is also available through Audacy’s digital platforms, including the Audacy app. The station’s programming continues under Yancey’s direction as he splits leadership duties between San Francisco and New York.
