Jason Aldean Returns to BMG with Landmark Music Deal

This landmark deal represents a significant milestone for BMG, whose total music rights investment since Bertelsmann’s Boost program launched in 2021 has exceeded $1.5 billion.

According to BMG’s CEO, Thomas Coesfeld, this acquisition strengthens the company’s position in country music and broadens its reach across other genres. He emphasized BMG’s commitment to maximizing the value of music rights, marking a major step in the company’s strategy to be the most artist-first music company in the world.

The deal includes Aldean’s entire catalog of nine studio albums, from his Platinum-certified self-titled debut in 2005 to the chart-topping 9 in 2019. BMG’s Broken Bow Records, part of the BBR Music Group, which BMG acquired in 2017, will continue to release his albums, including Macon, Georgia (2021-2022) and Highway Desperado (2023).

Aldean expressed pride in bringing his music back to his long-time label team, BBR Music Group and BMG, which have consistently supported his career. He sees this deal as a “full-circle moment” that will continue the journey of his music.

Jon Loba, President of Frontline Recordings in the Americas, reflected on Aldean’s debut album’s massive success, which helped define country music. Aldean’s continuous evolution both sonically and lyrically has ensured that each new release is fresh and meaningful for fans, and this catalog deal marks a return to his roots in country music.
