ONEUNITED BANK & AAFCA’s 2nd ANNUAL “MONEY ON MY MIND EVENT

moneyONEUNITED BANK & THE AFRICAN AMERICAN FILM CRITICS ASSOCIATION’S 2nd ANNUAL “MONEY ON MY MIND: THE FILM & TV INDUSTRY” EVENTAn enlightening private forum discussing career & income opportunities behind the cameraOneUnited Bank, the nation’s largest black-owned bank and the esteemed African American Film Critics Association (AAFCA) hosted the Second Annual “MONEY ON MY MIND: The Film & TV Industry,” Event this past Saturday at OneUnited Bank on Crenshaw Blvd. This private forum featured some of Hollywood’s most powerful black writers who are impacting the bottom line in TV & Film and who shared career opportunities “behind the camera.”This affair coincides with the AAFCA 7th Annual Awards on February 10, 2016Panelists included:

  • Wendy Calhoun, Co-Executive Producer of Empire and Supervising Producer of Nashville
  • Sherri McGee McCovey, Writer and Consulting Producer on the award-winning music competition show, “Sunday Best”, Scriptwriter for Steve Harvey’s Ford Neighborhood “Hoodies” Awards, and Producer of Oxygen’s Mo’Niques’s F.A.T. Chance.
  • Rob Edwards, Emmy nominee, writer for two Oscar nominated Disney films; Treasure Planet and The Princess and the Frog, and TV shows like “The Fresh Prince of Bel Air”, “Full House”, “In Living Color” and “Studio 60.” He is also the recipient of the AAFCA Award for Best Screenplay.
  • AAFCA’s President Gil Robertson
  • OneUnited Bank’s Chief Operating Officer and President Teri Williams will moderate the panel.

“OneUnited Bank was honored to partner with AAFCA on this annual event to expand awareness of opportunities to make money in the entertainment industry,” states Teri Williams, President & COO. “We are always looking for creative ways to promote financial literacy.”
