KDAY 93.5 FM, Southern California’s original hip-hop and R&B Radio Station, and the most recent brand addition to Meruelo Media, Southern California’s leading minority-owned media group, reached a twenty month high with more than 1.16 million weekly KDAY fans tuning into the legendary radio station according to the recently-released Nielsen Audio ratings.

In April’s ratings book, KDAY posted a significant audience increase with a total weekly cume of over 1.16 million listeners and compared with LA’s market average, Adults 18-49 are 43% more likely to listen to KDAY.

KDAY’s “first preference” Adults 18-49 listenership climbed 78% while its average quarter hour total week audience surged 100%, adding nearly 150,000 listeners since the end of 2013.

83% of KDAY’s weekly average quarter audience are Adults 18-49 – the demographic most coveted by advertisers, and the highest percent of any L.A. radio station. KDAY is a top 2 station in composition of listeners Adults 18-34 and 25-49

KDAY is currently the only Los Angeles radio station with 85%+ of its average audience listenership “away from home” – a prime criteria for many advertisers.

“KDAY’s April Nielsen Audio ratings are the best numbers we’ve seen in nearly two years… a growth trend we’ve been monitoring since Meruelo Media took over in January…” said Director of Sales, Derek Beesemeyer. “Our team is committed to this legendary SoCal format and today we’re better positioned to super-serve our clients, partners and community – we’re a true total market solution.”

KDAY in partnership with AEG will host the best in original hip-hop & R&B music with its upcoming FRESH FEST 2014 concert series this September 2014.
