Eight fatalities have been confirmed after Travis Scott’s popular Astro World concert in Houston Over 300 people have been injured and eight people have died at the sold-out Astroworld Festival at NRG Park in Houston, Texas hosted by popular Houston rapper Travis Scott.

There were 50,000 people in attendance and the crowd was packed! Authorities say that the incident occurred due to an unexplainable crowd surge. The unexpected surge caused many people to be compressed. The state of panic left many attendees injured, trampled, or dead.

Astroworld has been one of the most popular festivals in the city of Houston. The festival was curated by Scott to showcase the beauty of his hometown.

This year the lineup included some of hip-hop’s most famous artists like Roddy Rich and Lil Baby. SZA, Bad Bunny, and Earth, Wind, and Fire were also said to perform. During the concert Scott surprisingly brought out Drake, the crowd continued to jam out in the midst of the craziness.

Some attendees shared the chaos on social media in real-time. Crowd members had to assist with CPR since medical staff on sight were so overwhelmed.

Many say that the festival should have shut down after the first mishap at the start of the festival. Reportedly, a stampede of crowd attendees began to rush security at the entrance bypassing security and trampling many people at the gate.

Houston police decided to stop the event after the crowd surge got out of control. Police and city officials are continuing to investigate the cause of the crowd surge, which is unknown for now.

The Saturday, November 6, Astroworld show has been canceled to ensure that these tragic events will not occur again.
