Atlanta radio legend Greg Street is celebrating three decades behind the microphone at V-103, the city’s premier hip-hop and R&B station. The milestone represents one of the longest runs in Southern radio history for a single host at one station.

V-103 threw a massive celebration yesterday at Big Oomp Studio Kitchen in Southwest Atlanta, broadcasting live from 3 to 7 p.m. The four-hour special featured surprise guest appearances and live tributes from artists and fans who’ve followed Street’s career since the early 1990s.

Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens and Fulton County Commissioner Marvin Arrington Jr. both attended the event, presenting official proclamations recognizing Street’s contributions to Atlanta’s music scene and his ongoing work with youth empowerment programs throughout the city.

Street’s influence extends far beyond just playing music. Over the past 30 years, he’s helped break countless Southern hip-hop artists and has become a cultural ambassador for Atlanta’s music scene. His show has been a launching pad for emerging talent while maintaining connections with established stars.

The celebration highlighted Street’s role in documenting and promoting Atlanta’s transformation into a major hip-hop hub. From the city’s early rap pioneers through today’s chart-toppers, Street has been there chronicling the evolution and providing a platform for local artists.
