March 23, 2016 (New York, NY) – wlib 1190 AM, your home for Gospel & Inspiration, hosted its 9th annual radio-thon in support of St. Jude Children’s Hospital, raising more than $121,000 for the institute. During the two-day radio-thon, wlib and on-air hosts Bishop Hezekiah Walker & Neicy Tribbet, from Afternoon Praise, Yolanda Adams and Liz Black broadcasted live from the New York studios, while volunteers accepted pledges over the phone. All collections go directly to St. Jude’s to support their mission to advance cures and means of prevention, for pediatric catastrophic diseases, through research and treatment (StJude.org). Over the past nine years, wlib has helped raise over $1.4 million for St. Jude and will continue to assist in the fight against cancer and diseases that affect our children.

“Being able to support St. Jude Children’s Hospital each year is truly an honor,” states Charlie Morgan, General Manager of Emmis NY/wlib. “wlib is in a unique position where we can reach hundreds of thousands of people over the airwaves in just a few minutes, and then thousands more online and through social media. By utilizing all of our assets, we are able to come together to support one important need: raise funds to help find a cure to childhood cancers. wlib and all of Emmis New York hope that one day we’ll live in a world where cancer and diseases no longer affect our children.”
