New fans know the Legendary Roots Crew from the Tonight Show but The Roots have been putting it down since 1993 when they first dropped their independent album, Organix. Ever since then they have become one the most recognized names in music. No matter how big Questlove, Black Thought, and the crew get they always manage to return to their Philadelphia roots to put on their annual picnic.The Roots Picnic has featured some of everybody over the years.
This year marks the 8th anniversary of the shindig and it didn’t disappoint. Erykah Badu, A$AP Rocky, The Weeknd, Afrika Bambaattaa, DJ Mustard and a host of others all graced the stage and rocked out for the sold out crowd.
