Former President of Urban Music at Interscope Promoted to EVP of Interscope Geffen A&M
Joie Manda Promoted To Executive Vice President Of Interscope Geffen A&M
Interscope Geffen A&M promotes Joie Manda to Executive Vice President, effective immediately, reporting to John Janick, Chairman and CEO.
Manda previously held the title of President of Urban Music for Interscope Records. Since joining the company in 2013, he has played an indispensable role at the label, having signed or overseen releases from 6lack, Rae Sremmurd, Tory Lanez, Mike WiLL Made-It, Dreezy, Playboi Carti, Machine Gun Kelly, among others.
In addition, Manda has added to Interscope's long tradition of identifying creative entrepreneurs via partnerships with J. Cole for Dreamville Records (whose roster includes Bas, Ari Lennox, Cozz, and J.I.D), DJ Mustard (10 Summers, home to Ella Mai), YG's 4 Hunnid label and Atlanta-based LVRN Records (the team who brought 6lack to Interscope and are also behind the breakout success of D.R.A.M.). Manda has also launched Rule #1, his own joint venture at Interscope.

Prior to joining Interscope Records, Mr. Manda served as President of Def Jam Records. He was also head of Urban Music for Warner Bros. Records, where he signed Rick Ross' Maybach Music Group (Wale, Meek Mill), Jill Scott, and Common, among others. He started at Warner Music Group as Executive Vice President of Asylum Records when the label was revived in 2004 and signed Gucci Mane, Lil Boosie, Paul Wall, and Bun B. Mr. Manda began his career in music as a DJ before working as an artist manager.
Lisa Fischer Joins UP As Executive Vice President, Advertising Sales
UP announced today that Lisa Fischer has joined the company as executive vice president, advertising sales, with responsibility for overseeing all advertising sales operations for the network as well as that of ASPiRE, the network from Earvin "Magic" Johnson. Fischer will be based in New York and will report to Charley Humbard, president and CEO, UP. "Lisa is a highly respected executive with trusted relationships with agencies and their clients," said Humbard. "Lisa's experience leading award-winning sales teams at some of the top programming brands will ensure UP continues to bring growth, value and quality customer service to our advertising partners." "I am incredibly excited about this opportunity to join UP at this point in the network's history," said Fischer. "UP's original programming slate is growing and gaining widespread acclaim, and everyone I've met is all-in with their enthusiasm and commitment to continuing to grow the brand. I look forward to contributing to that growth." Fischer joins UP from ION Media Networks, where she was senior vice president, network advertising sales since 2010. Before joining ION, Fischer spent 12 years at Discovery Communications, most recently as senior vice president of sales for networks including, Discovery Health, Animal Planet, Fit TV, Discovery Kids and Investigation Discovery. She also launched ad sales operations for OWN: The Oprah Winfrey Network.
The ad sales teams Fischer has overseen have been recognized with numerous industry awards including: #1 Quality Sales Organization by Jack Myers Media Business Report and Sales & Marketing Management – One of America's Top 25 Sales Forces.
REPUBLIC RECORDS Names Ben Adelson Vice President of A&R
REPUBLIC RECORDS proudly announces the promotion of Ben Adelson to Vice President of A&R. This announcement comes directly from Executive Vice President of A&R Rob Stevenson. Since 2012, Mr. Adelson has served as Sr. Director of A&R for the company. In this new position, he will continue to sign, cultivate, and develop budding talent on the label's diverse roster. He actually began his career as an intern at REPUBLIC RECORDS in June 2007. Working his way through the label's ranks, he previously held the positions of assistant to President and COO Avery Lipman and Director of A&R. His projects have included records from OWL CITY, OF MONSTERS & MEN, PACIFIC AIR, JOHN NEWMAN, RACHEL TAYLOR, RUEN BROTHERS, and more. Recently, he signed buzzing UK troubadour JAMES BAY. About the promotion, Mr. Stevenson comments, "Ben's got an amazing ear for talent and songs. Moreover, his diligence and tenacity prove to be a driving force in the department. It's incredible to see him become an influential A&R presence in his own right."
Mr. Lipman adds, "I've had the pleasure of watching Ben literally grow up at this company. It's been an honor to watch him evolve, and I personally look forward to collaborating even more closely as the roster grows."

He worked in A&R at Epic Records from February 2010 until August 2011, when he made his return to REPUBLIC RECORDS. He graduated from USC in 2009.
