Streaming Services Add Translation Tools for Super Bowl

As the Super Bowl approaches, streaming platforms are enhancing user experience through the introduction of translation tools aimed at facilitating understanding of non-English lyrics. This development comes in anticipation of Bad Bunny’s historic performance, which marks the first all-Spanish halftime show in Super Bowl history.

Apple Music has rolled out a lyric translation feature as part of its iOS 26 update, allowing users to access line-by-line translations of songs in various languages, including Spanish. This initiative aligns with Apple Music’s sponsorship of the Super Bowl halftime show, ensuring that fans can engage with Bad Bunny’s music more deeply through real-time translations and phonetic pronunciation guides. Currently, these features are available exclusively to iPhone and iPad users.

In addition, Spotify has announced a new lyric translation feature that is initially available to its Premium subscribers, with plans to extend this functionality to free users globally in the near future. This strategic move by Spotify is designed to enhance user engagement and retention by making the music of diverse artists more accessible to a broader audience. Other resources, such as the Genius lyrics website, also provide translations, further supporting non-Spanish speakers in understanding Bad Bunny’s lyrics.
