Boomer Esiason Has a New Gig

boomer-esiason-82882817-e1348856317167CBS RADIO’s 98.5 The Sports Hub today announced the addition of football great Boomer Esiason to the Toucher and Rich Show Monday mornings for the entire 2013 football season. His first appearance will be on Monday, Sept. 9 at 8:00AM. The Toucher and Rich Show can be heard on-air, online at www.cbsbostonsports.com or via theRadio.com app for a variety of mobile devices weekdays from 6:00-10:00AM.

“We are very happy to have somebody with Boomer’s talent and experience join Toucher & Rich each week,” said Mike Thomas, Vice President of Programming, CBS RADIO Boston. “Boomer is not afraid to speak his mind, giving an honest opinion on what he sees on the football field. His contributions will be a refreshing perspective for our audience.”

Esiason was a celebrated quarterback in the NFL for 13 seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals, New York Jets and Arizona Cardinals. He went to the Pro Bowl four times and was the NFL MVP in 1988. Esiason is currently a studio analyst for THE NFL TODAY, the CBS Television Network’s NFL pre-game show, and serves as co-host of the highly-rated “Boomer and Carton Show” on New York’s WFAN-AM/FM radio. Additionally, he calls “Monday Night Football” radio broadcasts for Westwood One.

In this newly created role, Ortiz is responsible for the day-to-day construction, maintenance and placement of the company’s out-of-home advertising assets in 48 of the top U.S. markets and Canada. Additionally, he will lead operational strategy for servicing iHeartmedia (formerly Clear Channel) Outdoor’s advertising clients with the diverse collection of out-of-home assets the company has developed to help brands reach their audiences, this includes the more than one thousand digital billboards the company has deployed in 38 markets.

Most recently, Ortiz, a leader within the U.S. out-of-home industry as well as to the teams he’s led, was president of iHeartmedia (formerly Clear Channel) Outdoor’s Wichita and Fort Smith markets where he established a track record for growing revenue and efficiencies.

Ortiz will report to Bryan Parker, executive vice president, Real Estate/Operations. “Orly brings a rich history of experience, plus a terrific work ethic to bear in this new role,” said Parker. “Through his proven business acumen, he’s already earned the respect of his colleagues throughout the organization and his leadership in this role will help iHeartmedia (formerly Clear Channel) Outdoor to further its operational excellence, enhancing the experience for clients and making all aspects of the business more efficient.”

Ortiz’s deep experience in out-of-home with iHeartmedia (formerly Clear Channel) is hallmarked by his continuous embrace of evolving technologies and new operational methodologies that have better equipped the company to solve advertisers’ needs. During his first 18 years with the company, Ortiz was based in his hometown of Miami and held numerous positions, including; mechanic, carpenter, rotate, construction, safety director, I.T. and posting supervisor. In 2003, he was promoted to operations manager of the company’s Orlando division. He remained in this market for seven years, with his last four years dedicated to the role of a regional coordinator. In 2010, he was promoted to lead iHeartmedia (formerly Clear Channel) Outdoor’s Wichita division as president and general manager.

UMG’s East Coast Labels include Island Def Jam, Motown and Republic Records. Formerly, Mr. Alexander served as Vice President, International, Island Def Jam. He is based in New York City.
In this expanded role, Mr. Alexander will oversee artist campaigns under the East Coast Labels umbrella, including the marketing, publicity and promotion functions outside of the US. He has worked closely on global efforts for Rihanna, Justin Bieber, Bon Jovi, Kanye West, Jay Z, Mariah Carey, The Killers, and Fall Out Boy, among many others.
