Multiple children were injured after the floor collapsed at a Colorado House party. Firefighters said three children were hurt, one seriously, at the event that hosted more than 100 guests.

On Saturday, the South Metro Fire Rescue (SMFR) received a report that “people were dying” at a home in the 20900 block of Princeton Place in Arapahoe County around 9:30 p.m. local time.

Before the collapse happened, video posted on social media showed a crowd of between 100 to 150 people jumping on the first floor.

Many attendees “violently” dropped to the basement. A prominent amount of debris was scattered amongst them.

An SMFR Facebook post, which was shared on Sunday, read: “A 911 caller reported that ‘people were dying’ and hung up. Upon arrival, emergency personnel observed over 100 juveniles in the street and discovered that a large portion of the first floor collapsed into the basement.

“Additional resources were dispatched, and witnesses reported that five people were trapped in the basement. Firefighters entered the badly-damaged home and immediately began search and rescue operations.”

A victim with serious injuries was transported to a nearby hospital by paramedics after being found outside.

A ruptured natural gas line was free-flowing and needed to be shut off to prevent an explosion as well as a fire, emergencies services discovered.

According to the Facebook post, an SMFR technical rescue team and the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s office assisted the firefighter in searching the home.

It was determined that everyone had left the house and there was no one trapped inside the home, although there was a lot of debris.

Also transported to a hospital were two other victims who had minor injuries. They were found outside the home.
Numerous firefighters, fire trucks, and ambulances were shared in photos outside of a home.

“It’s truly remarkable that no deaths or additional injuries occurred,” an SMFR spokesperson added.
