Miami, FL— Miami Light Project is proud to present the 5th Annual Miami /Project Hip Hop, taking place this September across Miami and Miami Beach. From September 27-30, 2006 Miami Light Project will host leading Hip Hop theater artists, activists and educators from all over the US for a weekend of provocative dialogue, visual art, film and performances featuring South Florida artists and some special visiting artists from around the country.The event will feature studio performances from Hip Hop Theater artists including, Miami-based Rudi Goblen’s Insanity Isn’t, Los Angeles-based Nicole Klaymoon’s Ms. Spellings of Be, a film screening of Byron Hurt’s Hip Hop: Beyond Beats & Rhymes, a book signing and lecture with Jeff Chang, author of Can’t Stop Wont Stop and Total Chaos and a culminating performance by the critically acclaimed NY-based theater company Universes.
