JSUNAA presents $54,949 for student scholarships

Kelly III/University Communications)The Jackson State University National Alumni Association (JSUNAA) presented JSU a $454,949 check to support student scholarships and the institution as part of the recent Day of Giving.JSU Acting President Thomas K. Hudson commended JSUNAA for always answering the call to support the urban HBCU.”The gift from the JSUNAA is another example of the great work that can be accomplished when alumni give back to the institution. This assistance helps Jackson State University provide critical support to our students in pursuit of their education, for one day they, too, will be generous contributors,” Hudson said.JSUNAA president Dr.

Earlexia M. Norwood said 58 chapters in six regions contributed to the scholarships. “JSU Day of Giving is one of the most significant days for the alumni association to support our university. This is important because our students need funds, and the university needs our support.

Our involvement is important because our alums are beneficiaries. So, we are very willing to give wholeheartedly to the institution.”Tammy Terrell-Brooks is director of Alumni and Constituency Relations and executive director of JSUNAA. She said, “This gift in support of the recent Day of Giving will assist with scholarships for our well-deserving students.

They are our future. Alums from all over the country joined in this effort. I especially want to thank the Class of 1970 for making a difference in the lives of our young people, and I encourage all alums to continue giving to Thee I Love Jackson State University.”
