Joe Manganiello Responds to Sofia Vergara’s Divorce Explanation
Joe Manganiello has publicly disputed the reasons Sofia Vergara provided for their divorce. The “Modern Family” actress previously claimed the split occurred because Joe wanted children, while did not. However, in a July 16th interview with Men’s Journal, Joe labeled this explanation as “simply not true.”

Joe recounted that during the first month of dating, he and Sofia had a significant conversation about children. Joe asked Sofia to be honest about her stance on having more kids, stating he would understand and accept her decision. He added that they did attempt to start a family during the first year and a half of their marriage.
The Real Reason for the Split
According to Joe, the actual cause of their separation was that they simply grew apart, which he describes as a common occurrence in relationships. He strongly denied ever giving Sofia an ultimatum regarding children, emphasizing that he was not someone who would pressure his partner into making such significant life choices.
Sofia Vergara’s Perspective
Sofia, who is now dating orthopedic surgeon Justin Salomon, previously told Spanish newspaper El PaÃs that the age difference and Joe’s desire for children were pivotal factors in their divorce. She expressed that did not want to become a mother again at an older age, preferring instead to look forward to being a grandmother.

Sofia mentioned her plans to modify a tattoo got in honor of Joe during an appearance on CBS’s “The Talk.” She humorously noted that her new boyfriend, coincidentally, has the same initial, allowing her to “recycle” the tattoo. Meanwhile, Joe has debuted a new romance with Caitlyn O’Connor.
