HOT 97, the #1 Radio Station for hip-hop music and R&B, and Footaction present Who’s Next Live featuring Audio Push with special Cypher by Bodega Bamz, Troy Ave and Smoke DZA on Wednesday, December 18 at SOBs in New York City! The Who’s Next showcase, hosted by HOT 97’s peter rosenberg and Shani Kulture, with special co-host, Cipha Sounds, and music by DJ Juanyto, is the #1 platform for up and coming artists to perform for the biggest names in music. Come celebrate the holidays with HOT 97 and Footaction at Who’s Next Live!
Taking the stage is rap group Audio Push, consisting of California natives Octane and Pricetag. The West Coast duo, best known for their hit single “Teach Me How to Jerk,” signed to Interscope records in 2009. This year, they released their latest mixtape, Come As You Are, which has been described as, “an updated sound that’s fully aware of contemporary trends, while offering a unique blend of old-school lyricism… and an underlying melodic sensibility,” (Complex<https://www.complex.com/music/2013/09/audio-push-come-as-you-are>). Special guest appearances on the mixtape include Lil Wayne, T.I. and Wale. Through their innovative music, Audio Push sets trends and keeps their fans wanting more!
To celebrate the impact the Who’s Next stage had on hip-hop music in 2013, a special cypher of three past Who’s Next performers will join Audio Push on the legendary SOBs stage. Bodega Bamz, hailing from Spanish Harlem, is currently celebrating the success of his single “Don Francisco” making it to the HOT 97 airwaves. Joining him is Brooklyn rapper Troy Ave. Named after a block near his childhood home, Troy Ave takes pride in his Brooklyn roots. His song “Show Me Love,” with Tony Yayo, is garnering attention of DJs in and throughout the tri-state and beyond. Rounding out the Cypher is Smoke DZA, who has collaborated with well-known artists such as Big K.R.I.T, Wiz Khalifa and A$AP Rocky. 2013 proved to be quite a successful year for DZA, with sold-out shows across America, multiple singles and music video releases, and a feature on Funkmaster Flex’s mixtape, “Who You Mad At? Me or Yourself?” Additionally, HOT 97’s very own peter rosenberg will hit the stage for a special all-45 DJ set you don’t want to miss!
