Multi-platinum recording artist, songwriter, and producer Preme releases the single, “Gangsta Gangsta.” The track is the first new music from his forthcoming mixtape, Penthouse, to be released on January 8, 2024, via The Rep Ups/MNRK Music Group.
About “Gangsta Gangsta,” Preme says, “‘Gangsta Gangsta’ represents, above all, being a solid individual and having morals and principles. The song chorus also pays tribute to the late Nipsey Hussle, who also embodied these same values. The song speaks about things like taking care of your children and ds a different light on the term Gangster. I thought it was the perfect song to return with, as it represents the stage I’m at in my personal life and about also becoming a leader and mentor for the younger generation.”
Recorded in Toronto, the Penthouse mixtape features 12 tracks written by Preme. Production on the mixtape was primarily handled by superstar VInylz, plus hot, up-and-coming producers discovered by Preme, including SAUCEboy, DNNY PHNTM, TheBoyKam, DJ MO, Kevin Mitchell, Nick Cassidy, Pria, WallisLane, Shndo, Austin Powerz, and more.
Preme’s producer collective, The Reps Up, has been having a ton of success, having recently produced the track “Lyrical Eazy” from Meek Mill and Rick Ross, and produced on Drake’s latest album For All The Dogs.
Preme adds, “Penthouse really is a nickname given to me by my peers, Penthouse P. It comes with a lot of other nicknames such as Playboy P, VIP, etc. I just feel like I’m in my Penthouse phase financially and mentally; I make it a point to be fly every single day and just purchase the things I’ve always dreamed of. If I could think of a logo that would represent me right now, it would be a fly penthouse, just like the one on the cover of my upcoming project.”
Preme, formerly known as P Reign, is a multi-platinum artist, producer, songwriter, and record executive. He has released two solo projects, the Dear America EP and Light of Day. He has produced and written for Drake, Post Malone, Migos, DJ Khaled, Chris Brown, and others. He also provided A&R for Drake’s album Scorpion. Preme continues to be at the forefront of hip-hop culture with Penthouse, both with his artistic talents and his keen ear for finding new talent.
