BMI Honors Kevin Ross’s First No. 1 R&B Hit

BMI celebrated a groundbreaking moment for Kevin Ross as his hit “Love In The Middle” claimed the No. 1 spot on the Adult R&B Airplay Chart for four weeks. The event, held at BMIs Nashville headquarters on Tuesday evening (8/19), marked the first R&B No. 1 celebration of its kind. This achievement is significant for Ross, as it represents his first-ever No. 1 hit as an independent artist.

“Love In The Middle” was co-written and co-produced by Ross, alongside the hitmaking duo Louis York, which consists of Grammy-nominated songwriters Claude Kelly and Chuck Harmony. The song, which spent 10 weeks in the top five on Billboards Adult R&B Airplay Chart, has resonated deeply with fans, showcasing Rosss unique musical talent and dedication.

The event also highlighted the spirit of giving, as Ross, Kelly, and Harmony joined together to present a special donation to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, which is committed to advancing research and treatment for pediatric diseases. Studio Bank sponsored the celebration, with Kari Barnhart leading the donation effort on behalf of the artists.
