Are Black Agents Just Dead in Hollywood?

Let me start by saying before you say anything, know that there are no qualified Black agents in Hollywood. We are not qualified to do the job of representing Black talent… right? OR maybe they looked and all black agents are dead?

Yeah that’s it, there are no living, breathing, effective black agents in Hollywood. That’ll work. IN AN UNRELATED STORY …

Caroline Yim, Zach Iser Join WME Agency as Co-Heads of Hip-Hop and R&B…Courtesy of Subject (2)Caroline Yim; Zach Iser…. But before you get upset or play “the race card” maybe Black agents in LA are simply extinct, lazy or not qualified to represent Hip-Hop and R&B after all what do Black people know about Hip Hip and R&B? Right?

KUDOS to Tyler Perry. The Hollywood Reporter printed the story a couple of weeks ago and I missed it but here it is. Former CAA execs Caroline Yim and Zach Iser have joined WME as co heads and partners for the music department’s hip-hop/R&B team. KUDOS Their move comes on the heels of WME hiring music agent Aaron Tanenbaum from CAA in early January.

Aaron Tanenbaum”Caroline and Zach reflect the future of the music business, having already built an incredible roster of artists through their entrepreneurial approach to client representation,” Lucy Dickins, Kirk Sommer and Scott Clayton, co-heads of WME’s music division, said in a statement.”We are excited to bring our 25-plus years of combined experience to the innovative and forward-thinking music department at WME led by Scott, Lucy and Kirk,” Yim and Iser added in their own statement. This happens because Black talent is silent while raking in millions. I quit, oh I can’t do that, I won’t be hired anyway. Duh!
