The Beast 980 Names New Sports Sales Manager

Bob Koontz has been named sports sales manager of all-sports The Beast 980 (KFWB-AM), it was announced today by the Radio Station ‘s trustee Diane Sutter. Koontz has more than 20 years of sports radio sales and management experience in Los Angeles. From 2006-08, he was the Radio Station manager for espn 710 and served as that Radio Station ‘s first sales manager over the preceding six years.

Koontz also served as sales manager for L.A. outlets KABC, KLOS, KSCA, KMPC and K-LITE. Throughout his career, Koontz has worked directly with several local sports franchises including the Clippers, Trojans, Angels, Rams and Bruins.”I’m thrilled to be part of the launch of L.A.’s new sports Radio Station ,” Koontz said. I look forward to working with our great talent to help build strategic partnerships and unique opportunities for our clients and listeners.”Koontz was born and raised in Southern California and resides with his wife in Fullerton.

They have four children. The Beast 980, operated by KFWB Asset Trust, is L.A.’s new all-sports Radio Station featuring Fred Roggin, Jim Rome, Clippers basketball, NFL and NCAA football action and Trojan’s Live. The Radio Station will launch this month.
