The attacks on B. Smith’s husband for having a girlfriend while his famous wife, former restaurant mogul B. Smith is in the throes of Alzheimer’s, have been monumental.
As he explains people don’t understand what it is like to be in a situation like this and handling it alone. B. was diagnosed a few years ago and her husband admits the situation has taken a huge toll on him as her caretaker. Recently he announced he has started dating a woman the couple has known for years.
The women is helping to take care of B. and the situation is awkward to, especially women, who feel her husband should not have a girlfriend during this crucial time in B.’s life. See video courtesy of the Washington Post. B.

Wow!!!! This is sooo sad. I understand that he feels lonely and but B. Smith is still alive and she is still his wife regardless of her mental state. Therefore, it is wrong for him to not only have a girlfriend, but to have the woman in B. Smith’s presence. I’m sorry but right is right and wrong is wrong. He’s wrong for doing that. I personally feel that it is disrespectful to B. Smith and her family and for what she stood for. If she were in her right mind, she would never approve of this.
Do you think he could have gone on doing it by himself?
Nobody knows what it’s like to be him unless they live in his shoes.
