‘Are Programmers Going Beyond The Single?’, Elroy Smith

rfocus.org

I remember back in the day, my fellow programmers including myself were excited about finding the one album cut that wasn’t a single, but we believed in enough to expose it to our audience. To date, this magic is missing from many radio stations, including mine! Today, I came across a Bruno Mars song that is so amazing that if it never becomes a single I will continue to play it on KBLX/SF.

The nostalgic feel of “Calling All My Lovelies” is addictive and the harmony is reminiscent of the Force MD’s, Boyz II Men, and Earth, Wind, and Fire. This is by far the best new summertime, fresh, illuminating, goose-bump & feel good song on my radio station today. Just one man’s opinion.
