Man in Wheelchair Arrested for NYC Woman’s Murder

Chad Irish, 55 years old, was arrested by New York police in connection with the murder of Yazmin Williams, 31 years old. The arrest took place at a Manhattan public housing complex. During the arrest, Irish, who uses a wheelchair, was handcuffed to a gurney and placed into an ambulance.

Details of the Crime

Williams’ body was discovered in a pile of trash on a sidewalk in Midtown Manhattan. She was found in a sleeping bag, wrapped in plastic trash bags, and had been shot in the head. Surveillance video reportedly shows a person in an electric wheelchair dragging a sleeping bag towards the pile of trash, helping investigators focus on Irish as the suspect.

The arrest scene was surrounded by an angry mob. Williams’ family is pleading for justice and remembering her positively.

Chad Irish has a lengthy criminal record, with at least 21 prior arrests, including charges of murder and arson in 1994. He is currently facing charges for the concealment of a corpse and additional charges in another case involving menacing and criminal weapon possession.
